The killer of love
sneaks up from behind ,swiftly, quietly,
like a soldier patiently waiting for its prey.
While we are stuck in our routine, going about our lives without a care in the world,
he strikes, destroying and shredding the light
turning it into darkness.
That’s the killer of love.

Don’t give up on love,
leave the past behind
the future is ours to shine
don’t let it lose your mind
love is not blind,
you will get through this.

The killer of love
makes us lose all hope, and deny faith.
It reaches for our heart yet rips our souls out,
so we turn into zombies all day and all the night.
We become robots, void of emotion, and feelings
falling into emptiness, not knowing where to go to or where to turn.
There’s danger at every corner.
We don’t care, and become full of hate,and rage.
We become divided.
That’s the killer of love.

The killer of love
won’t stop,
won’t end until it reaches it’s mission.
To destroy humanity, light by light, until we are in
complete blackness and isolation,
to make our normal way of life crumble, and we fall on our knees.
Then when all hope is lost and there is a point of no return
It has us where it wants us.
it grabs its dagger, and goes for the ultimate kill.
The light is no more.
That can’t happen, that won’t happen!
Be the light of the world,
the light will overcome the darkness.
You will survive.
And so it is.

This poem is about the pandemic that’s affecting our way of life around the world. It’s an evil energy, an evil spirit. It feeds off fear and division. It wants us to lose hope. We can’t let that happen. Shine your light in the world. Be bright and bold and strong. We will get through this. It’ll get worse before it gets better but we will get through it. We are all in this together.
